Slow down

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one. This is the last one!

slowdown

Slow down. Not a concept I was familiar with for the first, oh, say, 40 years of my life or so. But these last few years I am getting more and more in touch with the sensation of slowing down. Of contemplating, reflecting, breathing long and slow, not responding immediately, but allowing things and thoughts to settle down.

Do you need to slow down some?

Grow young

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one.

growyoung

Grow young. Is that something you think about? I do. I look around me, at myself and my peers, at my parents, grand-parents (only one alive nowadays), but also at younger people, and kids.

When I think about growing young, I don’t envision plastic surgery and facial tucks and such things.

Young for me is a mental process, rather than a physical one.

Somehow being young isn’t about age. Staying young certainly isn’t.

Do you agree?

Walk happy

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one.

walkhappy

The manner of which I keep my body influence me. If I walk happy, I am more likely to think happy thoughts, and to feel happy, since my feelings are a direct result of my thinking. I even go one step further, loving to dance walk. (Put on some music and go out walking, or rather, dancing!)

Have you ever tried it?

Hang more with vegetables

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one.

hangwithveggies

I do love my vegetables. I eat more and more vegetarian, and the more vegetarian I eat, the more I love it. I don’t know what I would do without fruit and vegetables, actually. I love carrots and for the past ten years, almost a day hasn’t gone by without me crunching on a carrot. So much so, that my skin tone is turned to orange, all those beta carotens have to turn up somewhere.

Do you hang with vegetables?

Say hello

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one.

sayhello

I often say hello to anyone I pass out on the streets, even though I sometimes just smile. It’s funny, because in a way I think get the most out of it. It makes me feel good, acknowledging people, nodding, saying hej, morning, morgen, hi and so on. And smiling at people for sure make me feel great – and there’s even evidence to that.

Said hello or smiled to anyone today?

Strive for clarity

At Tender Greens, Santa Monica, they had these pictures on the wall, with the most profound messages. I’m gonna share them with you because I think they are worthy of being shared, each and every one. They are of the same quality as the Tender Greens food is, if you ever have a chance to try it, do!

Strive for clarity

Since so much of the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought, are about clarity, I took this as a good sign. We all have an innate wellbeing, but sometimes our thinking get’s muddled. It can be like a snow globe, which when shaken just turn a white blur, like a snowstorm. But if you let the globe be, it will settle, and there will be clarity. The same goes for our thinking. Once we stop trying so hard to think things through, moments of clarity usually come, and you just know the answer to whatever issue you were struggling with. Ever had that happen to you? You stop thinking about an issue, and at the gym, in the shower or driving your car, you suddenly get it? Had any recent moments of clarity?

Set your ideas free

Set your ideas freeThe Three Principles are Mind, Consciousness and Thought. I relate this message of setting my ideas free with the third principle, that of Thought – because when I allow myself to not get stuck in thinking, there will be new thoughts, new thinking. And with them, ideas come.

When did you last set an idea free?

Start a garden

Start a garden

This has been said in many ways, shapes and forms, by people all over the world. What did Voltaire have Candide say?

Il faut cultiver notre jardin.

That is to say, in English:

Let us cultivate our garden.

Are you?

Be your own guru

Be your own guru

I’ve been talking and writing – and not the least, practicing – a lot of reflection the past year, and isn’t that what this message is trying to convey? To dare to listen within, and understanding the world and our own reactions to it, from the inside out?

Do you dare be your own guru?

Be a random act of kindness

Be a random act of kindness

This one is one of my favorites of these pieces of art. Notice that it deliberately say not to PERFORM a random act of kindness, mind you, but BE one. Isn’t that just the most amazing way to look at it?
